Quick report
Toured on all aspects of Silver Peak and found a variety of snow surface types. Found prominent (5-10mm) surface hoar on W-NW-N-NE-E aspects at 6800-8000ft that had not been broken down by the time of our descent at 3pm. Widespread near surface facets of roughly 10-20cm on shaded aspects. Variable snow included 2-6 inches of soft surgery snow to extremely firm supportable crusts near ridge lines to spring like sun softened snow on solar aspects in the afternoon.
