Bighorn

Climbed Elliot Left Hand Feb 5 and noted two old avalanches that occured at the end of the recent warm weather. At the base of P3 (pic 2) we came across debris from a wet loose in a more (initially) unsuspecting spot. It slid on relatively low angle terrain from high climbers right (pic 3 - taken from the top of pitch 3) and even with the low snow pack produced a surprising amount of debris that was at the base of the pitch. From above it appears it initiated on slabby rock features on an E/SE aspect. At the top of P3 there was more old wet loose debris that stopped right at the top of the climb (pic 1). It was difficult to identify the crown, but it appears it started from the open area with multiple connecting zones from varying aspects. Sizes of both were probably a 1.5-2. On our climb it was overcast, temps -2 to -4, no wind (on climb/visible ridge top) or spin drift, recent snow was 5-10cm of light powder in the treeline/alpine. Had a couple glances through the clouds and couldn't identify any large cornices or obvious overloaded slopes above.
