<p>Observations from AST class. Shooting cracks and small size 1 triggered while hiking in the area March 6. Snow on a steep south aspect was moist with small pinwheels. Results from compressions tests were variable due to variability of the wind slab as well as the January melt-freeze crust: CTVE(RP) down 13cm in facets below a wind slab; CTE(RP) down 9cm in facets; CTM(RP) down 32cm in facets size 1-2mm.</p>

Rapid temperature rise to near zero degrees or wet surface snow.

Wind affected, Powder.
