Grizzly Shoulder

Meshwell Boschmann, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

10 cm of new snow overnight at trailhead. 20 cm ski pen in trees at 1500m. 35-45 cm ski pen in openings at treeline. Dug test pit at 1920m after getting a couple whoomphs (see snowpack tab). Skied main Grizzly Shoulder run fall line toward Connaught Creek twice. Two ski cuts in start zone at 2100m did not produce any result. 2100m to 1600m skied amazing with the top 90cm having a very progressive density (F to 4F to 1F) over the Nov 5th crust. Felt a couple more whoomphs while skiing down between 2000m and 1800m but no cracking or avalanches observed. Few alders lower down but enough room in between. Only came across two other parties and one went over the rock band towards Rogers Run/Puff Daddy. All in all, another excellent day at the pass.
