Quick Observation

Good tree skiing today with low density deep snow. As we crept up towards the alpine we saw a natural cornice fall and trigger a healthy size 2 avalanche. The cornice/avalanche tumbled 300m and came right to the edge of old skin track (see photo). A small storm slab also pulled out of lower fan of chute when cornice dropped. We also heard two other audible avalanches during the morning but couldn't see where in the alpine they happened with the bad vis.
