Quick Observation

Left with a big objective in mind but the incredibly bad skin track, I know this is a recurring theme but it was not on the summer trail, was too steep, than too flat and even downhill, etc... up to Avalanche Crest Bowl, combined with the wind picking up near ridge top got the best of us. Of note, we had only 50-100 cm of unconsolidated snow on ground at our highest point 100m below the Avalanche-Eagle Ridge. So we resorted to two great laps in the bowl and a final run down to the parking lot. A sun crust could be felt on steep due south and southwest. The ski down to the highway was much better than expected. We felt the sun crust in a couple spots but aiming for the micro aspects that were more west than south facing revealed some excellent ski quality all the way down. We finished with the path lookers left of "the pants". I would assume that MacDonald West Shoulder area has next to no suncrust. Boot top non windaffected pow at all elevations. No settlement or cracking observed anywhere.
