Elliot Glades

Rode Elliot Glades this afternoon. Observed whumpfing and shooting cracks while skinning up, on what was likely the early January surface hoar layer or perhaps a result of most recent cold snap. Dug a pit near top of treeline at approximately 1400m. Layers of facet were found in between crust layers at approx. 20-30 cm, 60-100 cm, and near the base of the snow pack. Compression test revealed a failure on the 14th tap at the 30 cm layer of crust. While riding down the snow quality was nice light powder, slightly windswept in places. Temperature warmed throughout the day.
