Quick Observation
Good base building. At a lower elevation alpine feature 15 - 25cm moist soft snow on the surface skied well. A supportive base underneath is so far made up of a few crusts and rounds moist to ground - sticking to lower angle and lee features for the best coverage. Suspect higher alpine will be a drier and we still need more data on the structure of the layers up there.
Weather
High pressure ridge building, inhibiting precip, light to mod outflow winds
Snowpack
A ~10cm layer of Polycrystals (3-5mm) down 44cm in the midpack likely formed from the diurnal cycles we've been monitoring around this elevation. On this layer we observed a CT 13 RP. Block was hard to move from all the moisture in the pack. At the base we observed a ~10cm MF/FC layer that is rounding and clumping at this elevation. Keep an eye out on basal instabilities in the higher alpine.
