Quick Observation
Went to the Revelstoke Mountain Resort slack country today to dig in the snow. We dug a pit at the top of Highway bowl at 2200 m. There was 154 cm of snow where we dug in a lee feature just below ridgetop. We had an extended column test that propagated across the column on the 17 tap in the moderate range. We also did two deep tap tests above the Dec 1 surface hoar, which produced sudden planer result in the moderate range. We skied down into Montana bowl and found good turns in 30 cm of unconsolidated snow atop a supportive melt freeze crust. It warmed up through the day to -2 in the alpine so we scooted back in bounds to practice our multi burial transceiver rescue skills.
