Quick report
Snow was wet and heavy from the silverstar gate all the way passed the hairpin. Once we got above 5000’ the snow depth increased and dried out to powder. Great snowmobiling on the highway, hood deep on the road, heavy wind drifts in the ditch deeper than 4’ at times. Lots of avalanche debris visible in all avy shoots along the highway, wet debris piles that look like they slid from high in the alpine. Snow felt stable on steeper aspects off the road above 5,000’, no cracking or signs of instability while sidehilling small open faces. We didn’t hang out long under any overhead exposure, but it looked like most of the problem spots were naturally triggered during last nights storm.

Many D3 sized avalanches with heavy debris on road below steep runout gullies. Avalanches ran from base and exposed rock underneath.
