Weather
Temps were in the teens today, with south winds picking up in the afternoon near 20 mph, gusting to 30's. Light snowfall began around noon, with 1" accumulated by 5 p.m.
Snowpack
The new snow is falling on a variety of surfaces from melt-freeze crusts to settled powder to faceted snow. See profile dug on S aspect BLT showing a strong slab/crust combination overlying well preserved depth hoar and a potentially reactive surface weakness given tonight's expected load. No signs of instability today in our operation.
