Quick report

Toured Judah mid-day today. As expected the snow has become more saturated on easterly sun-exposed slopes, but unexpectedly it was still fairly soft and enjoyable rather than manky or crusty. Some shaded north aspects still held soft wintery snow mid-afternoon. Temps felt quite warm in the sun but chilly when clouds rolled over and winds picked up. We were surprised to see trees still holding onto snow from the weekend. A loose wet slide occurred sometime between our 1st and 2nd laps in the 1:00 hour. Pic and description below.

Avalanche

D2 loose wet slide on a SE aspect of Judah ridge occurred between 1-2pm, triggered by cornice fall. We saw someone stomping cornices in that zone on our prior lap, but are unsure if the pictured avalanche and cornice collapse was natural or intentionally triggered.
