Quick report
There are still approximately 19cm of facets at the base of our snowpack. The 15cm, solid rain crust directly above them seems to be making it hard to trigger that persistent weak layer. In this pit, I did not see slab characteristics in any of the snow layers in the top 50cm of the snowpack. As we get more precip we should look out for how new snow settles on top of the unconsolidated facets, particularly if we get large amounts of snow or if temps rise.

Snowpack
The top of the snowpack has been surprisingly well preserved with cool temps (at least on N aspects above 7000ft), meaning new snow is adding to a top layer of about 20cm of soft, loose, crystals resting on top of the thin melt-freeze crust from December. Digging revealed two predominant crusts: the thick rain crust 19cm above the ground and thin melt-freeze crust 60cm above the ground, both sandwiched by faceted, non-cohesive snow. CT and ECT only showed results at the top crust, 20cm from the surface, with no propagation.
