Quick report

Today, skies were sunny, and the winds were calm to light. Surfaces were well frozen this morning but quickly softened by 10:00 AM on S and SE near 8000'. Solar slopes between 9500' and 10,200' were slower to warm, with only the upper few inches wetting by 2:30 PM, with supportable crusts below. By late afternoon on our exit, slopes below 8000' had become soft and unsupportable on foot but surprisingly supportable on skis. We saw no recent avalanche activity, and today was a textbook spring day—cool, refrozen surfaces in the morning, softening and wetting through the afternoon.
