Trip to, down, and boot back up Silver Twins starting at Commonwealth and ascending Kendall Knob. Wind had scoured the ridge from Kendall Knob to the Main Vein/Line chutes down to a rain crust. We did not stop to investigate when the rain crust had developed. Ski crampons were required. Several of the Main Vein/Line chutes had older avalanche marks that we assumed were the same as those in previous observations. Current wind direction was generally blowing up the Central Zone chutes, so we decided to descent skier's right Silver Twin, which appeared to be the most appetizing of the windswept selection. Snow quality in the line ran the gamut from bulletproof rain crust to breakable crust to wind slab. Booting back up resulted in some isolated cracking and development of detachable three inch thick slabs. Descended through Kendall Lakes and traversed the road back to Kendall stumps in very low tide conditions. Wet snow fell during the twilight and evening hours.
Avalanche
D1 magnitude, appeared to be wet loose, on SE and E facing slopes in Kendall peak vicinity, particular on ridge to Main Vein/Line and all slopes of the Kendall West Zone.
