Continue presence of reactive basal facet layer at 60-70cm. Melt-freeze facet layer formed during warm up which could become more reactive with future load. No natural avalanches observed. Reduction in whumpfs and crack length since 10/4. The increase in temperatures from 12/4-12/6 created a significant melt freeze layer at lower elevations in in the Mores Creek Summit area. At elevations below 7000' we did not experience any whumpfs or cracks. As we ascended above 7000' we were able to trigger localized whumpfs and cracks.

Snowpack
Below 7000' it was hard to find snow deeper than 30cm. Above 7000' on W/N/E aspects snow depth ranged from 60-70cm. The basal facets observed on 12/4 continue to show signs of instability above 7000' with positive test results at both 7200' and 7600'. During the 12/4-12/6 increase in temperatures we created a significant meltfreeze layer in the snowpack that has begun faceting. This layer was covered in 10-15cm of new snow and will likely get another 15cm overnight.
