Traversing from Pineapple Pass, under Bryant Peak, to the top of Bryant Couloir
Quick report
- Cracking
- isolated
* yes signs of instability, shooting cracks 5-7ft and two human triggered avalanches.
Avalanche
* Under Bryant Peak, 5000ft, S/SE Aspect * Human-Triggered * Wind/Storm Slab, 20foot width, 1ft depth, ran ~100ft, D1 * ~35degree slope angle We were traversing from Pineapple Pass, under Bryant Peak, to check out Bryant Couloir. As we contoured around we began seeing shooting cracks 5-7ft. We decided to bail due to the instability and transitioned. 3 of our 4 were grouped by small trees. The fourth partner began skiing down and trigged the avalanche, which propagated over to one of our partners. The first skier was able to outpace the avalanche, but the second was carried 50ft without burial. No injuries. We later observed another skier trigger a larger avalanche in a notch, lookers right of Pineapple Pass. Possible D2.
