Quick report
Went up to the powerlines on Roaring Ridge & were doing day 2 of an AIARE 1 course. We observed no signs of instability all day. We conducted a few quick tests on small slopes, hand shears, etc & dug a full profile at 2790' on a NE aspect. No signs of instability observed in our area

Snowpack
35-40cms of new snow gradually increases in hardness, from F-1F. At 45cms, the Jan. drought layer was found, & was reactive in snowpack tests. In this location, it was found to have 1-2mm FCs sitting above the MFcr, & was 2cms thick. The MFcr below the Jan. drought layer was 5cms thick, & The Jan drought layer was widespread in this elevation band & aspect, & was found between 35-40cms down. It was reactive in both hand shears & CTs/ECTS, though showed some evidence of bonding in these locations with resistant fracture character throughout (CTM14RP down 45cms on Jan. drought layer FC 1-2mm/MFcr).
