Very upside down snowpack below 4k. Above was cold and dry. Storm snow felt very reactive everywhere but more so at the lower elevations. Experienced frequent collapsing on low angle terrain as well as large cracking on unsupported features. We traveled up to 5200' and felt confident choosing simple terrain with small avalanche paths. Would have felt very uncomfortable stepping into bigger terrain in the alpine. We did not observe any actually avalanches today with the exception of rollerballs on steep slopes. Light winds from the WSW. S-1 to S1 all day, with no vis. Did not probe or dig. Spent the whole day plowing a tench in order to break trail.
