Quick report
A cold morning with lingering high clouds. Toured out to Ann via Swift Creek. Some aspect dependent light crusts from Thursday’s sun, but soft snow was well preserved. This week’s storm snow maybe 15-20cm on a very frozen and supportive crust. All N facing aspects on Ann held well preserved wind drifted powder up to 45cm. No instability felt, the bond to the firm crust was good. We skied up to 45 degree slopes and only triggered some small (up to D1) dry loose. Surprising number of parties out (15 people). When we exited around 4pm sun had become direct and hot, dropping tree bombs, cliff bombs, and lots of wet loose on S to W aspects. Only steep protected N to E aspects above 4500ft will likely hold soft snow into the weekend.

We only saw cornice fall avalanche debris and some small D1-1.5 natural avalanches on very steep, rocky, unsupported terrain. Only this weeks storm snow seemed involved
