Nice warm and sunny day out in Loop Brook. Good skiing and travel was surprisingly not bad, even around the elephant trunk! Dry powder above the elephant on non solar aspects.
On the moraines, up to 60cm of storm snow was sitting on a crust 3-4 cm thick which is decomposing and is itself sitting on grainy and moist isothermal snow with little cohesion. Fairly easy hand shear result with a clean planar break of the storm slab on top of the crust.
We saw one notable natural avalanche on Clarke running fast from the top with an impressive powder cloud. At least size 2 from run length, but we couldn't see the debris.
Several wet loose up to size 2 on Ross, stopping at the fan or in the track.
