Joss Ridge

The snow surface was rock solid this morning until we got to 2000 m, then we found 5 to 10 cm of dry snow from yesterday's storm. The snow sat on hard surfaces but we couldn't get it to move. We saw no new avalanches today, not even in lee alpine terrain or on steep south slopes during the heat of the day. Northerly aspects remained dry, with 4 mm surface hoar on the surface.
