Quick Observation
We made it 3/4 of the way up phantom. There is a very firm runnel in the middle of the couloir that made for quick travel up for a portion of the boot pack and thoughtful skiing down. ~2600m we found a 10cm windslab that was pretty easy to break off in big cookies and looked like it loaded the whole slope above. I had a shooting crack for about a meter in the windslab. Where it wasn’t firm or a windslab there was 55cm of fresh. One slab avalanche below the main summit of ogden bench was visible that didn’t seem like a cornice failure or due to sluffing. Lots of crowns around at the base of the faces. The big crown line climbers left of the main ogden benches route appears to be a glide crack. At least 9 people skied Ogden bench. -18c at the start and -4c end of day. We crossed the lake on the way down. The parking is kind of a junk show and might require awd.
