Tommy Creek delivered with snow on the access trail right from the parking lot. Decent riding began at 1800m with 75cm, going up to 115cm in the Alpine.
We saw 12cm new snow in the morning and more snow started falling at noon. There were light southerly winds in the Alpine.
Digging down the snowpack starts soft on top and gets firmer and harder as it gets deeper.
There are still lots of early season hazards. We could feel rocks and logs under our tracks and see open creek holes.
Overall we had a great day of fun, if cautious, riding in Treeline meadows.
