Quick report

Collapsing
isolated

My groups in the Yostmark Level One course found pit data and test results which supports the recent forecasts. 1F slab over weak November facets. 12/17 Coal Creek, 9500', NW, 17° slope. Height of Snow- 96cm. Layer of concern is facets above and below decomposing crust down 70cm. This layer consistently produced ECTP 14-18. Surface hoar was also found above the decomposing crust. We experienced a large collapse in our pit area and still had propagation in the pits. 12/18 South of Edelweiss, 9000', E, 10° slope. Dug two pits in this area. HS 75cm, ECTP14 down 45cm failing on Nov facets 2-3 and Surface Hoar. HS 90cm, ECTP26 down 55cm on same LOC. We had a large collapse 10 minutes into digging a L1 pit at 9500' on a NW facing slope in Coal Creek.
