Observed a small natural cornice failure/soft wind slab on a SE aspect @ 9500'. SS-N-D1-R1-I
Dug a pit on a wind loaded ESE aspect @ 9600'. ECTP 13 down 25 cm, wind slab on the most recent crust (formed on 3/30 buried on 3/31). ECTP 28 down 85 cm on March 20 layer (not much of a pop or drop, after removal of 3/31 crust).

Mostly cloudy with snow showers. Showers varied in intensity from s-1 to s2. Middle elevations saw some gusts but were fairly calm, upper elevations had sustained winds that were transporting snow out of the SW.

Dug a pit on a wind loaded ESE aspect @ 9600'. ECTP 13 down 25 cm, wind slab on the most recent crust (formed on 3/30 buried on 3/31). ECTP 28 down 85 cm on March 20 layer (not much of a pop or drop, after removal of 3/31 crust).
So the reactivity of the 3/20 layer should be going down in areas where it is now capped by the 3/31 crust. In wind loaded areas slab depths above 3/20 are approaching 1 meter at the upper elevations. New wind slab depths are around 25 cm and growing, but still rather soft. Frontal passage tonight should cause a peak in natural activity on the 3/31 interface and also work to harden the slab above it.
