Quick report

Generally stable conditions today and beautiful weather. Meltfreeze crust snow surface was very firm and supportable throughout the tour on solar aspects but began to moisten/soften by 2pm, especially below 5k'. No obvious signs of instability observed today (avalanche observed was old).

Clear and calm. Temps at TH were 11*F at 915am and 40*F at 230pm.

Snowpack

Dug two snow pits today and both exhibited a generally stable rounding snowpack. The SE pit was more shallow and had more defined layer boundaries/hardness differences while the NE pit was deep, consistent and strong. Our only stability test (PST in SE pit) resulted in stable results. Snow grains were only moist on the surface of the SE pit, and nowhere else.
