Quick report
We searched the many ridges of Sixmile for wind-affected snow.
- We encountered one pocket of wind-drifted snow that was sensitive enough to crack and slide a few inches. 6800ft NE aspect.
- We found a couple small thin soft-slabs that would not crack around our feet.
-Cornice of of varying shapes dotted a ridge perpendicular to the previous SW winds. We could break off the most recent growth with some stomping.
-Recent snow sat atop hard drifts formed last week. On direct southerlies the snow was stripped down to the hard surface.
- We saw light blowing snow from Southeast winds at upper elevations.
-Solar aspects were moist by 1100 hrs. Trees were shedding snow and causing rollerballs at 1400 hrs. A new sun crust had formed by 1600hrs.

Clouds building in the afternoon. Wind mostly calm gusting to light from the South around noon and shifting to easterly.
Snowpack
6800 feet E aspect: HS 400+ cm, ECTN 11 down 30cm under most recent wind slab. This area has onnviously seen substantial windloadinf throughout the season.
7000 feet W aspect: HS 209 cm, ECTN11 down 25 cm under crust. Mid-January crusts down 100cm
