Quick report

Collapsing
widespread

Toured the low angle hills around Mcgee on primarily northerly aspects. ~7k-7.6k We experienced widespread whumphing while both skinning up and skiing. It was very loud and alarming. Dug down on a north eastern slope and found the new snow was sitting on a layer of facets about 7cm thick. These facets were then on top of a much firmer crust. Lots of wind transport and wind slabs. We were mostly on terrain below 20degrees so didn’t see anything move (other than feeling the whole snowpack collapse) Saw lots of medium-large slides on Mcgee that appeared to have ran during the storm cycle.
