Quick report

We traveled from the scenic loop closure to the top of EQ Dome and skied a lap on the N side of the Dome. While we were at the top I probed for the layers in two spots, one a NE aspect at 9270’ and the other N aspect 9370’. HS 190 and 200 respectively. In both spots a firm layer was buried 130 down with softer snow to the ground underneath. That softer stuff didn’t quite feel like really loose big facets to my probe - it felt denser and less grainy than that. We didn’t dig down to find out more. We also triggered 20-30cm diameter pinwheels while ascending the SE and E aspects of the dome at 9-10AM but no other shedding even on those steeper slopes.
