Aspendell, Habeggars, Table Mtn

I made an attempt to head to S. Lake today. The road had up to 35 cm of new snow on it. Travel wasn't too bad in the morning hours when snow was still light and fluffy. By 11 am, snow was transitioning, and very difficult to navigate. The upper and lower 5 - 10 cm were wet, with dry snow in between. Travel was attempted via bike, ski, and walking. All proved slow and inneficient with the conditions. After a long journey down the road and back up, scoping coverage, seeing no signs of recent avalanche activity, and building lots of character, I headed up to Aspendell to look at Jawbone Canyon, and also assess the potential to get up to Bishop Bowl. There is no snow on the S facing Morraine towards Bishop Bowl. The N - E facing terrain of Jawbone held 2 - 10 in of new snow over sagebrush. The snow was wet by the afternoon in shallower areas, and the snow at ground and surface were wet, with dry snow in between, in the deepest areas. I found very isolated areas with new snow on top of a crust near 9000', E. No instabilities were observed in this area, nor on Table mountain. Looking through a zoom camera lense, I could not see any natural avalanche activity along the Bishop skyline.
