Riding above a NW aspect just below 9000ft, I was able to get a large collapse, which caused a crack to run about 40 yards across the start zone of a small but steep slope. The depth of the crack seemed to vary, but it was below the December 10th rain crust. HS in this location was about 120cm, and the slope was wind loaded. Our group also felt numerous collapses in gentle terrain, 2 of which were two of the largest collapses I’ve ever experienced.
