Dug on a W aspect to see how weak layer was looking on a relatively sunny slope and compare to the pit I dug yesterday at similar elevation on a shady (NE) aspect in Red Pine. In pit today, facets were noticeably softer and larger than pit yesterday, and I had propagation in my ECT (ECTP25). My guess is that the relatively shallower slab in this area (175 total snow depth) vs shady pit yesterday (230 total snow depth) caused that difference?
