Quick report

Dug a pit at 9600 ft in Cardiff facing NE below Mid Ivory.

Depth: 195cm

ECT - No propogation

CT - 13 failed on interface between more firm snow likely from monday / tuesday and overnight fresh snow. Failed roughly at 175cm. Non-planar (Q3 shear)

Other notes:

We found another layer of graupel at roughly 145cm. This layer was not active in standard testing, but we were able to get isolated columns to fail on this later using excessive force. This layer did have a relatively planar shear. On more N facing hand pit slopes we also found very firm (pencil or harder) interface between old snow that was probably on the surface after the south wind sat / sun. Seemed like this was probably isolated to slopes where firm wind slabs formed last weekend.
