Quick report

What a lovely day out. Hard to argue with sunshine and soft snow up high, except for one encounter with a fierce local resident: “That’s no ordinary rabbit”, if you get our drift. Surface hoar was beginning to develop overnight. Noted on all aspects/elevations above 6k ft. No instability noted, other than sloughing on steeper, north aspects. Skies were clear then partially cloudy in the afternoon. Temps were below freezing. Ridgetop winds were light, but no wind at lower elevations. No evidence of active snow transport.
