At 0815, in the lower part of hillmans we experienced a density change from Fist to 1 finger And back to fist hard snow. this density change was obvious from when we left treeline which was all low density snow, till we crossed that line onto hillmans where the wind had been hammering it. A little further up the snow was back to fist hard and we experienced shooting cracks underfoot. turned around and skinned out there.
