Manitoba

In the Summit Area, there was about 4-6 inches of new snow. It was raining below 1500 and then cleared up around midday and was a windier in the afternoon. On the way up Manitoba to about 2500 Ft the snow was wet and fairly consistent with a thin crust about 3-4 inches down under the new accumulation. Above 2500 we noted a couple whoomfs and the Northwest ridge of Manitoba had an older crown. The snowpack is still new and settling. Around the area there was lots of sign of new avalanches and a couple glide cracks on Southwest aspects of Spirit Walker. Almost every West and Southern aspect on faces over 35 degrees had slides or evidence of slides. Overall, we were not able to see much of any of the avalanche evidence until we were driving in the evening when things cleared up but, we travelled cautiously, did not expose ourselves to anything over 25 degrees and after seeing all the slides would definitely call the snowpack unstable currently. I was not able to get any photos because of the snowglobe effect most of the day.
