Cold and clear! Surprisingly cold! 15F this morning at our weather station and it never got above freezing during my morning tour.

Snowpack

It feels more like May than March.  Riding seems pretty much restricted to north facing slopes due to low snow cover (south slopes are totally bare).  There are many patches of bare ground at the lake elevation.  In the thicker forest it was hard to connect snow patches until 6,700 ft or so.  I measured 125 cm. of snow at 7150 ft. north.

After such a cold night, only sunnier slopes were softening a little by the time I descended around 11:00.    Everywhere there was a stout melt-freeze crust.  Tomorrow should be a better day with warmer temperatures in the forecast.
