Quick report
Generally found soft snow and pleasant riding conditions. Open slopes above 6000' held wind sculpted snow on northerly/eastern aspects. We didn't travel on any south facing slopes. No signs of recent avalanches around the terrain we traveled. Inversion above upper stillwater lake provided brief periods of sun with broken clouds. no signs of instability on our tour

broke through inversion at 3600' to mostly cloudy/broken skies. light to moderate winds on exposed notches, calm to none in sheltered terrain. short graupel showers around 1400.
Snowpack
Found 10-35cm of soft recent snow above 5500'. Areas with 30cm of new snow acted like a slab on top of recent AR crusts. Faceting crystals found on failure layer during ECT. (see snow pilot). Several small crusts and ice lenses below that crust, but generally snow crystals were rounding on the slope we examined.
