IM Lot

I observed several recent natural avalanches and photographed the most notable. Near Idaho Peak, small, pockety slides ran in steep rocky terrain, likely storm slabs that released during heavy snowfall late last week. Along the Marmot uptrack, several small avalanches released on a convex roll, likely storm or wind slabs. On the west side of The Pinnacle, I saw a larger slide near the ridgeline; from a distance, I could not determine whether it was a wind slab or a failure on mid-pack or basal weak layers. On the northeast side of President's Ridge, I saw a small mid-slope slide that failed on weak snow near the ground. It may have been sympathetically triggered by a thin wind slab breaking further along the ridge.
