Snow Pit Analysis Time: 1200 Aspect: North Elevation: 9200' MSL Slope angle: 16° Snow depth: 75cm Snow surface temp: -9°c Snow base temp: -5°c Air Temp: -4°c Sky cover: Clear/Sunny Precip: None 2 defined layers within the snowpack. - 1st layer was 25cm above ground level and is 2cm thick - 2nd layer was 40cm above ground level and is 5cm thick Top of snowpack has slight suncrust where exposed and is still composed of loose snow Bottom of snowpack is faceted, but showed signs of sintering similar to other terrain of similar elevation, aspect, and slope angle as yesterday. While skiing, the snowpack held up under the weight of skiers ranging from 160lbs to 220lbs+. There was no evidence of cracking or failing within the areas travelled around the SE of Sonora Pass. Areas travelled were near treeline and below treeline and ranged from N to SE aspects at and around 9500' MSL.
