Quick Observation
Skied Jumbo on Tuesday. There was ~15cm of new snow over a very settled upper snowpack. Ski pen was only 20-30cm but we were pleasantly surprised by the great skiing. We dug a quick profile at ~2250m, E asp, and observed a couple of 4F facet layers down 50-70cm beneath 1F snow above. HS was 150cm. We had some easy ECTN results on these layers but no ECTP results. We chose to stay conservative and ski the trees near the summer trail. We ski cut a couple of steep rolls at treeline and saw no reactivity. Skiing out is still a bit rugged with only 100cm at the trailhead. Snow was starting to become moist in the afternoon at around 1800m and below.
