Went for a reconnaissance mission to find the height of the rain crust. Unfortunately due to a low ceiling (1750m) with terrible visibility, we decided to ski a few lines below the ceiling to salvage the day. Snowpack details from one full profile can be found in "snowpack"
Treeline: Surprised to find 80-110 cm widespread on NE, E, SE aspects. Alpine: Variable from 10cm on windward features to well over a meter in lee areas and terrain features. Snowpack summary: - At 1650m on a ESE aspect, HS 94cm (height of snow) 12cm down: Knife hard crust (1cm) with facets (3mm) developing on bottom side as anticipated from last weekends rain event **1 finger (1F) hard slab between rain curst and solar crust 23cm down: thin crust (solar?) with small facets (2mm and rounding) on the underside - ECTN23 **1F-pencil hard slab below solar crust and top of facets with no obvious layers 82cm down: Facets (5mm) commence all the way to the ground (12cm)
