Quick Observation
Toured up a ridge separating 2 bowls on the east aspect of dolomite shoulder. Remote triggered 2 size 2 avalanches in the adjacent bowls on the way up. Trail breaking wasn't too bad, with about 15, sometimes 25cm ski pen. Skied back down the ridge for some mellow but good quality turns. On the way back up for our second lap, our track had been noticeably filled in by the wind in some places. Skiing down the surface snow was also noticeably stiffer on the second lap. Socked in most of the day.
Avalanche Information
Remote triggered 2 size 2 avalanches while touring up the ridge. First slide was in the bowl to the north, 30m wide and ran 100m, triggered from 60m away. Second slide was in the bowl to the south, 150m wide and ran for 150m, triggered from 100m away. Both slides appeared to run on the Feb 3rd crust, and fractured in thin, rocky areas near the ridgecrest or rollover at the top of the start zone. Slab depths varied from 10cm at the edges to 50cm, maybe a bit more at the thickest part of the crown.
