Beautiful, calm day with almost enough viz to lure us into the alpine. We found good skiing despite the heavy recent traffic. No signs of instability.
Skinned From Bostock TH up to 2300m. Runs in Camp West down to 1650m and McGill Paths to valley bottom. Still some untracked snow to be found in Camp W. McGill Paths looked like a ski area... with moguls.
Avalanche Information
Large older crown between Mt Green and Mt Smart. Very deep. Viewed from McGill Shoulder. No debris visible. Rough guess at crown dimensions
Weather
Mostly calm w light E gusts above 2100m. Signs of recent light xport from east, and older blowing snow from WNW. Better viz than anticipated. good viz into the alpine with many summits visible between 11a-1p. Clouds were below ridgetops in AM and later PM. While some solars got moments of filtered sun, surfaces stayed dry.
Snowpack
HN 2cm was over a thin zipper crust on solars. Most snow surfaces were very light, dry, and weak. Minor sluffing above 1700m.
While we saw minor "butterfly" wind features on the ridge >2100m, we found no wind-stiffened snow, nor any reactive wind slab conditions.
