Quick Observation

Skied south facing slopes, 15-20 boot pen, 30-40 foot. HS 165 at 2350m, topped out at 2550m. Moderate winds at ridge top, but most loose snow had been transported from ridges already. Huge cornices, but seemed rock solid (not that we went anywhere near them). Surface was powder, some wind slabs underneath depending on exposure but no reactivity. Rain crust to +-1550 m, some refrozen wet/ sun crusts from about 2000m down. Skiing was supportive, even in lower “old” growth. Temps mild all day, snowed approx 10cm from overnight-noon.
