Quick report

Along the upper and portions of the middle elevation bands, a handful of small natural avalanches were observed between Smiley Ck and Stanley. The winds did some work transporting snow, in the higher peaks the snow surface appeared rippled and wind-affected.

Instability was limited to the recent snowfall. I only saw one D1.5 dry loose near Decker Pk. Several other very small loose snow avalanches were observed in steep craggy terrain. There were a few very small wet loose avalanches along steep roadside slopes.

Skies were partly cloudy in the Sawtooths and Western Smokys, just enough to obscure sunlight on solar slopes. Less cloud cover over the White Clouds.
