Quick report
Upper elevation solar aspects have 10-20cm of snow sitting on top of the surface left behind after the mid/late March heatwave. This did not become wet enough today for any wet snow problems (neither natural nor human-triggerable) but could become an issue on a warmer day. I comfortably climbed and skied in steep solar terrain in the middle of the day. The most recent snow has remained dry on shaded aspects down to ~9,000'. Ski quality is still great here with 25-40cm of settled snow and graupel from rounds of minor storms over the past 10 or so days. Recent winds have beat up the surfaces a bit and created some pockets of thin wind board that plated off in very steep terrain while skiing. Here, small wind slabs were my primary concern. I skinned it, but Hyndman road access is still well covered for sleds, with a few small dry patches. There are some sections that will melt out soon but much of this access should stay in for awhile, with a little scrapiness. No new wet avalanche activity today.
Weather
Periodic bands of very thin clouds did little to limit solar input. There was a haze of dust/smoke evident in the air, this seemed to be thicker to the south and east and thinner to the north and west. Westerly winds were generally light and variable, with occasional gustier periods
