Wet, dense, heavy snow pack that has seen sustain warmth travel was decent yet noticeably heavy and cracks were showing up in the surface of the snow in the upper 4 to 6 inches. Winds were moderate out of the south and were moving snow enough to form drifts around trees and other obstacles. The cracking was in the new snow in the upper 10 cm and it was failing easily to moderately, hand pits showed the upper 10cm not connected well. The collapses or whmphs happened a couple times maybe in rocky areas and they were small.

Foggy, snowing heavy and wet at times , caking your goggles on the snowmobile down low and rain below 6000 feet very wet day in the mountains.
Snowpack
Persistent Weak Layers that are deeper in the snowpack that have been a problem are getting hard to trigger yet still show propigation potential. The upper portion of the snowpack and the facets from November down low are moist. The upper snowpack (1 foot) that has formed since Friday is resting on a rain crust and is heavier and denser and is reactive yet still quite unconsolidated. Wind above 7500’ was moving the snow and forming drifts.

Observed the photographed hard slab, as well as many D1 plus wet loose on the surface all along above the road on Steep Rocky south southeast terrain.
