The snow is very touchy where it fell on ground or thin snow. At 3:30p at 6600 ft, there was 68 cm of new snow. Nearly ever step I took, my poles went clear to the ground or obstacle, and my skis 75% of the way down to the ground. There were numerous instances with cracking and whoompfing. It was also hard going. I turned around way earlier than I expected.
